A USAA spokesperson said on Wednesday it is paying more than the usual rate for rental car in Israel, and that it will not pay the extra amount it would have previously.
According to USAA, which has a network of about 4,000 rental car companies in Israel and has about 700 cars at its service center, the increased rate it will be charging to rent one from Israel will be about $20 per week.
In response, a spokesman for the rental car rental company said it is not paying any additional fee for rental cars in Israel.
The company, which is based in Israel’s largest city Tel Aviv, said it did not receive any request from USAA to increase rental rates.
“We have not received any such request from any of our members to increase rates,” the spokesman said.USAA is one of the largest rental car leasing companies in the world, with about 1,400 rental car rentals in Israel in 2016.
The company has partnered with Tel Aviv University to offer rental car classes, and said it expects its rental car program to be able to continue.
